Paintball is a sport in which players compete by shooting paintballs at the opposing team of players. This often is done in woods or fields. Paintball games are usually played divided into two sides, each with a single "field" (a game area) but multiple "sides" consisting of two or more teams of up to 12 players each.  A field can be indoor, outdoor, wooded, or covered with artificial turf; it may have structures and man-made objects on it as desired by the field owner. Field sizes are generally 10 to 20 acres for competitive play and 3 acres for recreational play.
